The Art Lover’s Café and Art Lover’s Shop are open 7 days.
The Café serves breakfast from 10am and lunch from 12 noon until 5pm.
Afternoon tea is available from 1.30pm.

Mackintosh Exhibition Tour

Out with organised tour groups there is no need to pre-book. Simply enter via the shop and our team will supply you with an audio guide handset. Last entry to the exhibition is 45 minutes before the stated closing time.

Groups & Guided Tours

We are delighted to welcome tour groups to the House.

For Guided Tours* our House for an Art Lover expert, James Winnett**, brings Mackintosh, the House and its story to life. James’s knowledge may appear endless, yet he is thrilled when new thoughts, interpretations or ‘Mack facts’ brought to him by tour members add new angles or even chapters to our story. We have yet to count, but we believe James has conducted this tour hundreds of times, his passion only building with every one.

*A minimum of 10 people are required for a Guided Tour. Groups of fewer than 10 people will be supplied with an audio handset. To arrange your visit, simply call in advance on 0141 483 1600 or email events@houseforanartlover.co.uk. Please ensure your booking is confirmed. Bookings can be made no earlier than 6 weeks in advance. Guided Tours are subject to the guide’s availability – if unavailable, audio guide handsets will be supplied.

**James Winnett is a respected artist and stone carver fascinated by the crossovers between sculpture, archaeology, folklore, place and memory. He has a variety of commissioned pieces displayed throughout the UK and Ireland.
