Arts development programmes, along with contemporary and traditional exhibitions in the Art Lover’s Café, provide inspirational opportunities for children, young people and adults to engage in a range of art, design and architecture events within the House, our purpose-built studios and within our surrounding parkland.

Local schools, youth and community groups that wish to develop a creative project in partnership with us, or visual artists, designers and architects who have interesting ideas for exhibitions or creative educational initiatives are warmly encouraged to get in touch.

Art Park

Since 1999, House for an Art Lover has promoted, funded and established partnerships to deliver several public art projects within the park, usually through competitions open to artists, designers and architects across Scotland.

Art Studios

Our Art Studios are vibrant spaces where we, along with practicing artists, teach a variety of disciplines including ceramics, drawing, painting and raku*, to name just a few.

Heritage Centre

Developed by House for an Art Lover, the Heritage Centre is housed within the former stables and dovecote of the original Ibroxhill House, showcasing the rich and diverse history of Bellahouston and the surrounding areas.

Dumbreck Road will be closed to traffic in both directions between Nithsdale Road and Dalkeith Avenue from 8am on Monday 2nd November until 6am on Wednesday 11th November 2026 to allow resurfacing works to take place.

Please note that House for an Art Lover car parks are still accessible from the Dalkeith Avenue end of Dumbreck Road throughout the works.
