Why House for an Art Lover can be your perfect date venue.
Written by Hannah Cochrane on .
As we are quickly approaching Valentine’s day; formally known as cupids birthday, the day of love, ‘that day of the year when florists around the globe have a surge in sales’, I thought it would be nice to write about why our venue could be the ideal valentines date for you and a partner this weekend. Yes, we all know it’s cheesy, but it happens to be one of my favourite days of the year (honestly!).
The Park
Okay fine, we are still recovering storm Ciara but doesn’t spider man kiss in the rain? In Bellahouston Park you can go for a leafy walk that can take you away from feeling like you are still in the city. Around the house you can take a wander around sculpture trail including a visit to the Elephant for Glasgow. With so much to see a romantic walk around in your wellies could certainly stir up some new conversations. A park date is also a lovely dog friendly option, making sure that the fluffy love of your life is also getting the attention that they deserve. While not in full bloom at this time of year our Walled Gardens are definitely still worth a wander, take time to explore all the corners – the picturesque Bothy is especially gorgeous on a frosty day!
Valentines Dinner
If something more romantic is on the cards for you both, the Art Lover’s Café will be open on Valentines for an evening dinner event on Friday 14th February. Our head chef Jamie has created a delicious menu that will be available on the evening, for £45.00 per couple you could enjoy canapes along with a 2 course meal with stop-ed-meds.net. We also have plenty of third course options for you to add, think salmon rillettes, ham hock roulade, confit duck leg or chargrilled rib-eye steak. Check out our menu and make your booking while there are still some tables available!
Please feel free to contact our team in the café; 0141 483 1611 to secure your table. We are also open for lunch as normal over Valentine’s weekend and our new menu really is delicious!
Take The Tour
On Saturday 15th we have our visitor’s attraction open between 10am-4pm. On arrival Dawn or Patricia in the shop will be able to provide you with an audio guide that you can use as a self-guided tool to show yourself around each room within our suite. The tour is fantastic as it will walk you through each room and point out all of the interesting aspects to our quirky décor. This date option would be perfect for those that are interested in Mackintosh, our history or even those who have planned to get married here at the House - you never know, you might get quizzed by guests! If you do happen to drop by, why not pick up a sneaky copy of our Wedding brochure and packages.
With so many stunning weddings taking place here it is amazing to see so many of our past and present couples visit the House, especially because of the lovely relationships we have created with them. Whether it has been a walk in the park and an impromptu visit to the House or a recommendation from close family, this is a venue that holds amazing memories for so many people.
We hope to see as many of you as we can throughout the weekend however on Friday, we wish you all a Happy Valentines, Galentines or Palentines. Whatever you may be doing enjoy doing it with someone you love!
Nothing says romance like a Valentines poem and this one was written from the heart….
