Summer School – Sculptural Wild Things!

Explore Sculpture, Drawing and Making inspired by creatures, stories, myths and legends of Mid-summer.
This course offers the opportunity to explore drawing and mark making along with key sculptural concepts and ideas. Working with variety of materials including plaster modroc, wood and recycled objects, participants will experience how materials can be manipulated and transformed into amazing sculptural creatures! Through drawing and mark making participants will develop their own style and play with how this can be applied to 3d surfaces.
Alys Owen works across multiple disciplines and has technical skills in sculpture, casting and mould making. She has worked as a facilitator of visual art workshops for over 10 years and has extensive experience of working with children and young people.
Recent projects include: 'LOOP', an extensive project in Glasgow’s subway network for Glasgow international 2018, which was in part created with young people. ‘Raoul Reynolds’ at La Belle Friche de Mai, Marseille and at Scotland Street Museum for GI 2016 and The Clinic, Glasgow International 2016.
