Scottish mezzo-soprano, Fiona Joice returns to the House this spring to bring you ‘An afternoon at the opera’. This concert will feature four alumni of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland: soprano Ellen Mawhinney, tenor Connor Smith, baritone Brian McBride and mezzo-soprano Fiona Joice.
Fiona Joice graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with honours of the First Class before studying for her masters at the Royal Academy of Music, London where she graduated with distinction. She completed her training at the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
This afternoon concert will be a mini opera-gala event featuring the much-loved classics from the Rigoletto quartet to the Flower duet. No previous opera enthusiasm is required... come along and be introduced to this music for the first time – or simply enjoy hearing your favourites.
This will be followed with a delicious Afternoon Tea featuring a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, savoury bites, home baked cakes and warm scones with jam and cream. Not forgetting freshly brewed tea or coffee and a chilled glass of Prosecco to wash it all down.
This is sure to be a tremendous concert by Scotland’s emerging young talent. Book your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
