 The Oval Room This was originally the Ladies Room where ladies would retire after dining, and is delicately formed in an oval shape, Mackintosh’s favourite feminine symbol. The oval shape continues right through the room incorporating the window, as well as resonating in the light surround and the wall cupboards. No interior drawings were given by Mackintosh for this room. The light fittings, fireplace and window seats have been created to suit the space from photographic evidence of other Mackintosh interiors. |
