The Music Room
In contrast to the elevated Main Hall and intimate Dining Room, the Music Room is a bright interior. with round bow windows along the south-facing wall, which allow natural light to flow into the interior. A balcony can be accessed from the Music Room from which an elaborate stone carving on the South exterior wall can be viewed.
The furniture, including the familiar high backed chairs, is kept simple and does not detract from the architectural qualities of the space. Lantern lights are hung by simple cords, adding to the vertical lines of the room and printed fabric panels drape the window recesses providing a decorative highlight. A dominant feature of the Music Room is the ornate piano, which is used regularly for private events and musical concerts in the House.
