A new Chief Executive - James Hughes

As of the 1st November, James Hughes will take on the role of Chief Executive at House for an Art Lover.

A familiar face, James returns to the House where he previously oversaw the restaurant before taking over as Operations Manager.  In addition to his previous 8 years with the House, he brings extensive experience and expertise in the service industry including a previous role as General Manager at the Piping Centre as well as acting as Front of House Manager at Graham Technology.

"Our Board of Directors and staff wish to extend our thanks and best wishes to Garry in his future endeavours and though he will be missed, we feel we're in truly good hands.  James is a highly accomplished manager and a welcomed asset to our winning team - equally his familiarity with the House will allow him to significantly contribute to our existing excellent reputation," said David J Leslie, Chairman of House for an Art Lover.

Building on the success of the House and continuing to ensure and inspire its continued progress, James has vowed to develop a programme of engaging events with a line up of diverse and appealing choices encompassing the Dinner Concert series, Sunday Music Recitals as well as numerous special events.

Projects on James' upcoming agenda include organising a celebration to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the House at the end of the year and raising awareness and sponsorship for various projects such as ART PARK Glasgow, the outdoor installation of art, design and architecture in the landscape.
