Bellahouston Dye Garden

The Bellahouston Dye Garden was initiated by the textile designer, Kathy Beckett, supported by House for an Art Lover's AiRborne artist-in-residence programme.

Kathy created this natural resource during the summer of 2013 as part of her Colour Ecology project, which included a public engagement programme ranging from gardening to natural dye techniques and knitting.

The House continue to support Kathy in her development of the garden, to establish a sustainable resource that explores the possibilities plants offer for the production of environmentally friendly pigments and dyes in textile practice.

The Dye Garden is located to the west side of the walled garden – just follow signposts to the glass house...
