Spring Is In The Air

The first three months of the year have passed by in a blink and with that comes change of gear as we approach all of our Spring weddings. At this time of year spirits are perkier, the gardens are brighter and most importantly…. Wedding Venues and suppliers are preparing themselves to head into a busy Wedding season! For this blog I thought that it would be the ideal time to talk about the beautiful changes that occur within the park surroundings  at House for an Art Lover throughout April, May & June, as well as what to expect for your day and some quirky ideas to consider before meeting your suppliers or co-ordinator (me!) for your final run-through of the day.

Beginning outside; Bellahouston park is absolutely beautiful in Springtime!
House For An Art Lover Spring Wedding
As the leaves on the trees are beginning to show and many varieties of flowers are now in bloom, the colours and backdrop that the season provides us with can be breath taking. The aerial photograph shown was captured by drone by RPL Videography last year, it shows perfectly how the house nestles amongst the nature of the park around us as the tree’s begin to bloom. Throughout the park there also are a variety of different opportunities available for your wedding photographs. The front elevation of the House on a beautiful sunny day cannot be missed for a group photograph with your guests. This large grassy space is an ideal opportunity for bio-degradable confetti to be thrown in a shot captured by your photographer. The finer weather allows you and your partner to wander the grounds for the perfect photo opportunity, the walled gardens and our elephant for Glasgow sculpture are both spots not to be missed!

This map of the house and grounds shows some quirky photographic options for you to steal on the day- definitely worth the short walk to two or three spots on the map! Be sure to visit beforehand to look at the possibilities and pick out your favourite spots for your wedding photographs.

As you enjoy time together capturing memories for your day, we could have your private Music Room balcony open for guests to enjoy. We haven’t yet been able to open up its doors this year, so we are just as excited as you for everyone to enjoy a cold glass of fizz out on the veranda. Make sure to get the most from your wedding package with us! Our balcony is fully licenced so on a lovely day guests can take drinks outside & we can follow you out with canapes and/or top-up’s. Let’s not forget about May 2018’s heatwave - hopefully 2019 will bring more of the same!

For children attending don’t forget there is full access to Grounds for Play, which is a lovely children’s play park directly adjacent to the House. This play park is fantastic for kids (and some of our couples too!) as the choice is there to pop inside and out throughout the drink’s reception or evening.

Inside the House as the days are now brighter, candle season is officially over for us so at this time of year we begin to see more coloured bouquets, floral displays and quirky centrepieces. Within the Mackintosh suite we are extremely lucky as the rooms speak for themselves, this means that when it comes to decoration minimalist touches can work just as well as more elaborate displays! If you are searching for any inspiration however, our suppliers guide can provide you with exactly that. Our recommended suppliers are fantastic for personalised stationary, centrepieces, floral displays, you name it! These companies all come highly recommended

Our café bar, downstairs is perfect for your evening wedding reception and on a lovely spring evening guest can make use of the outside terrace to enjoy some fresh air or even to watch the sun go down behind the tree’s - how romantic!

As the season changes, the scenery around the house is becoming more picturesque with nature and colour. I for one cannot wait to show couples all of the possibilities of our beautiful surroundings, inside and out. If you have already booked your special day and are looking for inspiration or ideas just give me a call, or If you haven’t yet visited, get in touch! I would love to meet you to discuss the possibilities for your day.

Thank you, Hannah.
