We have recently established a term-time programme of regular weekend Arts Courses for children (ARThouse) and adults (Drawing & Painting) within our purpose built studios at the House.
The House provides a number of scholarships to post-graduate students at The Glasgow School of Art each year and sponsors their Sculpture & Environmental Art 3rd year students Public Art Project at Bellahouston Park every Spring. The House continues to support artists at all stages of their career by presenting awards for outstanding, individual work at the Paisley Art Institute and Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts annual exhibitions. Full details on our Arts sponsorship initiatives can be viewed here.
House for an Art Lover also commissions leading, contemporary Artists-In-Residence to produce work based on the site's history and environment in association with the Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art (Gi). Details of our Gi 2010 Speedwork project by Jacqueline Donachie and our current artist-in-residence, Henry Coombes I Am The Architect Gi 2012 project can be found here.
As part of our ongoing commitment and development of the arts in the park we plan to convert the former Ibroxhill House Stables/ Dovecote and ancilliary buildings (next to the walled gardens) into a Heritage and Arts Centre during 2012, further details and notes on our progress are available here.
We are always keen to hear from local schools, youth or community groups who may wish to develop creative projects in partnership with us, or from visual artists, designers and architects who have interesting ideas for exhibitions or creative education initiatives at the House/Park.
