Dispersals of Fortune: Nicola Henderson

Residency & Exhibition
ART PARK Project Space at House for an Art Lover
August 2-9th & 21-29th, 11am – 4pm

Please join us for the closing event with raku firing* on Saturday 26th August, 2pm-4pm

Nicola's recent work has social and historical context, exploring themes of Glasgow and West of Scotland industrial heritage, deindustrialisation and urban regeneration. For this residency and exhibition Nicola has looked specifically at Govan's significant heritage as well as current day narratives and will be marrying dissonant themes, forms and materials to mesh narrative and object. Appropriation of Glasgow produced 19th century dinnerware, handbuilt reproductions of classical ceramic forms from the 1850 Glasgow Exhibition and clayslip printing onto man-made fabric will all be in development for exhibition at the end of the month.

Nicola is pleased to have The Govan Community Project Friday Women's Group designing and decorating a collection of porcelain paper-clay plates for exhibition.

* Raku firing will be weather permitting
