GENERATION is a major, nation-wide exhibition programme showcasing some of the best and most significant art to have emerged from Scotland over a period of 25 years.

GENERATION offers access to world-class art on an unparalleled scale with over 70 venues across Scotland taking part. It's free, it's exciting and House for an Art Lover are delighted to be participating, hosting an exhibition of work by the internationally respected, Scottish artist Kenny Hunter at our new ART PARK Studio Pavilion in Bellahouston Park.

Kontrapunkt
ARTPARK Pavilion Gallery, 5 July to 4 September 2014

Kenny Hunter makes elegant sculptures in many materials including wood, plastic, iron and bronze. He remains fascinated by the processes involved in making sculpture in the studio and the power that they have to transform materials in order to express his complex and vivid ideas on historical time.

For this inaugural exhibition at House for an Art Lover's new Studio Pavilion, Kenny Hunter will display a selection of new and existing sculpture with their packing crates. Overall the separate artworks will be stacked and arranged to create a single form. This installation will suggest process and flux, being part studio and part retrospective.

The title 'Kontrapunkt' utilizes the German word for counterpoint, implying the duality of meaning that is often present in the artist's work. Or could it suggest that his crafted, representational studio based practice is in some way at odds with the generation of Artists he belongs to?
